My daughter is currently between the princess bedroom and the High School Musical phases - and I know keeping up with her could be an expensive hobby. ;-) That being said, she is still using the purple gingham comforter set that I bought for her room when she was just a baby. With this set I purchased pillow shams that are ruffled with pink and yellow gingham, a pink gingham sheet set, and sheer drapes with coordinating hearts appliqued throughout. At the time I was able to find an unrelated yet well coordinating crib set as well. So, you can see how versatile a plain pattern can be. No matter what theme we accessorize with - this bed in bag will serve as a good backdrop. The best part is that it incorporates 3 colors - pink, purple, and yellow - so it fits with a lot of things.
The take away message here is that kids neutral bedding does not have to be boring. When someone says plain or basic my mind conjures up thoughts of solid colors, which are fine but lack their own pizazz. The patterns shown here - and others like them - can stand alone or can be accessorized. Therein lies their appeal.
