Toile fabric is synonymous with a canvas or linen cloth that is imprinted with a simple all over type pattern that appears to be sketched. It is believed that this material was once used as samples for practicing the print.
When I think of this type of fabric it brings to mind things from France - the country from which this word originated. Because of this sophisticated connotation - this pattern would work great for teen girls. If your daughter has a formal side then decorating around this theme would be a treat. Picture frames, flower vases, and clocks made of crystal and china can be found on discount at local home stores.
White wicker furniture can also add a bit of a french country feel along with a breath of fresh air. Interestingly - this pattern is making it's way from the rooms of mom and dad and teens to that of baby.
It seems that young parents who enjoy this look other areas of the home want to continue the pattern into the nursery - and voila - toile baby bedding has emerged as a very popular item.
I also found this cheerful toile crib bedding in green and white.
So you can see that this french pattern works well in kids bedrooms. The advantage here is that children are not likely to outgrow the simple sophistication that this theme has to offer. The disadvantage for babies and toddlers is that it is not as stimulating and fun as sets that features children's favorite characters.
